The ambitious plan involves replacing the outdated blast furnace-based production system with a cutting-edge mini-mill. This move alone will slash Sweden’s CO2 emissions by a significant 7%.
Powered solely by fossil-free electricity and energy sources, the new mill will set a new standard for sustainability. It will rely on two primary raw materials: ✅ Fossil-free sponge iron, crafted using the revolutionary HYBRIT technology ✅ Carefully curated recycled scrap materials
Beyond its environmental impact, the project promises a host of additional advantages: ✅ Enhanced steel output to meet the demands of our valued customers ✅ Expansion of specialized and premium steel grades ✅ Diversification of product offerings, particularly catering to the automotive and truck sectors ✅ Reduction in fixed costs and the elimination of CO2 emission-related expenses

Notably, the material used in pelleting, magnesium olivine, is sourced with utmost care. Albanian Minerals boasts the highest quality of this eco-friendly mineral and holds the world’s largest reserves.
